Awakened by their neighbors
Around midnight, Estelle and Jean-François are woken up in a disaster by their neighbors. Their house actually caught fire while they were sleeping. “We thank again Guillaume and Thierry, our benefactor neighbors, who came to wake us up in time by knocking on the door,” indicates the father of the family, interviewed by West France.
The family owes their salvation to the neighborhood tradition of wishing their neighbors a Happy New Year. This is how they noticed the fire in Estelle and Jean-François' house.
Around twenty firefighters mobilized
Despite the intervention of around twenty firefighters to bring the fire under control, the upstairs of the house was completely ravaged by flames, the floor where their children aged three years, 18 months and one month were sleeping.
The family was housed with neighbors, while waiting for the temporary rehousing solution offered by the insurance company.
