The number of companies created in Morocco stood at 78,244 units during the first ten months of 2024, according to the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC). These companies are divided between legal entities (56,292) and individuals (21,952), specifies the OMPIC in the general dashboard of its barometer of business creation.
The sectoral distribution shows a predominance of commerce, representing 34.73% of businesses created, followed by construction and real estate activities (19.36%), various services (18.47%), transport (8.07%). , industries (7.3%), hotels and restaurants (5.63%), the ICT sector (2.79%), financial activities (1.99%) and agriculture and fishing (1. 67%).
By region, Casablanca-Settat dominates the ranking with 24,571 companies created at the end of last October, ahead of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (11,328), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (9,121), Marrakech-Safi (8,875), Fès-Meknes (5,409 ), Souss-Massa (5,323), Oriental (4,588), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (3,083), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (2,238), Drâa-Tafilalet (1,766), Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab (1,308) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (634).
In terms of legal form, 64.9% of companies created were limited liability companies (SARL), 34.5% limited liability companies with a single shareholder (SARLAU), 0.3% limited liability companies (SA) and 0.1% of branches.
