A bottle of vodka because of… pain

The facts are as funny as the defendant’s explanations. At the entrance to the Hydrion park car park in Arlon, a witness is scandalized by a car which zigzags and climbs onto the shoulders and sidewalks where many people are traveling on their way to the shopping center. The witness alerted the police who quickly arrived in the parking lot and had no trouble finding the suspect car parked in front of the Carrefour store. The driver is at the wheel, engine running, in a state largely incompatible with driving.

At first, he explained that he was not behind the wheel and that he was only a passenger. He then claimed that he was zigzagging because his arm was very sore and that he had bought and drank a bottle of vodka to calm the unbearable pain.

The police never found the body in the bottle.

During the investigative hearing, the lawyer asked for his acquittal or, if impossible, to grant him great leniency with a very broad reprieve and the removal of the obligations to retake the exams and to have to install an alcolock.

“According to scientific studiesnotes the court chaired by Philippe Nazé, such a blood alcohol level qualifies the subject concerned as being in a state of stupor with inertia and loss of motor functions. Given the seriousness of the act which was committed when he had just been sentenced to a heavy sentence for drunken driving, the first judgment will be confirmed.
