It's around 3:30 p.m., Wednesday 1is January that the call for witnesses launched by the Indre gendarmerie the day before had a happy outcome. A 71-year-old man from Issoudun was missing. On December 29, the man briefly contacted assistance indicating that he and his car were stuck in the mud.

The septuagenarian was found by three Belgians who were walking by bike “in a very difficult to access area”explains the Indre gendarmerie in a press release released early in the evening this 1is January. The man was on a forest road in the town of Saint-Août.

The septuagenarian no longer had battery on his cell phone. The latter also has difficulty walking. He therefore waited in his vehicle since December 29. “After three days spent in his car, Mr. Jean-Marie Boursier is certainly exhausted, but his state of health does not cause major concern,” indicates the police.

Civil protection and hunters mobilized

The man was treated by firefighters and transported to the Châteauroux hospital center. He was able to be joined by his loved ones at the end of the day. A happy ending following his incident when two people reported missing were found dead earlier this week.

For three days, the Indre and Cher gendarmes had been searching for the septuagenarian's Peugeot 208, the area indicated as first intention being very vast: from Saint-Chartier to Châteaumeillant (Cher).

Civil protection was also requested on 1is January for searches by car, even if their mobilization was quickly interrupted due to the discovery of the septuagenarian. Hunters were also mobilized to find him and the gendarmerie emphasizes the involvement of all the volunteers.
