SC Chinon occupies the leading position at the break in the Regional 1 championship. The lights are therefore green on the banks of , with nine victories in ten matches including six offensive bonus points for the Chinon team.

The Sang et Or also achieved an almost solid success at home with five victories, including four with bonuses. The hopeful team, for its part, largely dominates the debates since it is undefeated with fifty points in the ranking out of fifty possible.

Several reasons for satisfaction

Coach Arnaud Pichonnière is obviously satisfied with the results of this first part of the championship. “The start of the season is more than positive. We are within the objectives that we set for ourselves. » The blood and gold coach, surrounded in his task by Juliette Savary, Sébastien Pautrot, Olivier Deschamps and Sébastien Delor, underlines other reasons to appreciate this successful start. “The players who came to strengthen the group have integrated well both humanly and sportingly. We also incorporated some young people from the club. The group is more structured and we have a little more competition than last year, which also allows us to have a more competitive junior team. In addition, there are fewer injuries than last season, a sign that the preparation has been good. Finally, two thirds of the team come from the Chinese training. »

To this, we can add the youth of the group since the average age of the collective is less than 25 years old.

A recovery to be negotiated well

However, Chinon does not want to skip the steps for the future. “We take the matches one after the other. We have a first block in January which will be decisive for the rest of the championship,” thus specifies the SCC coach.

Indeed, the Sang et Or will travel, for the resumption, to Pôle Sologne, a team difficult to handle on its field, then they will host Châteauroux, a team which has been coming back strongly for several matches. The month of February also promises to be crucial with two matches against US Joué and Orléans – La Source, which occupy the other two places on the podium unless the Chinonais win in the standings.

“We have to approach the two matches in January well and then focus on February with the oppositions against our direct competitors,” summarizes Arnaud Pichonnière.

In a good position, the Sang et Or must therefore not miss the start of 2025, to experience an end to the season which can be expected to be successful if they remain at this same pace.
