The Carhaix firefighters intervened this Wednesday, January 1, early in the morning, on a house fire that occurred in the hamlet of Trebrug, in the Saint-Hernin countryside. The alert was given to the firefighters shortly before 8 a.m. by the occupant of the premises, who was awakened by crackling sounds. However, he was able to get out of the burning house with his dog before help arrived. The small pavilion, with a floor space of around 20 m², was completely destroyed by the flames.
The large scale deployed
According to the owner of the premises, who lives near the house which caught fire, it was a colleague of his that he was hosting in this outbuilding. Met on site this morning, he added that the fire had started in the roof. Fearing a fire in a wooden barn, neighboring the pavilion, the firefighters deployed the large ladder. Additional water was also provided by the Pleyben firefighters. The fire was extinguished and the clearing completed shortly after 10 a.m. As the mayor of Saint-Hernin, Marie-Christine Jaouen, explains, the town does not have an emergency apartment, the occupant of the pavilion had to be directed to Carhaix to find a rehousing solution.
