IQNA-The Grand Mufti of Al Quds and Palestine, Imam of the Al Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, welcomed, Sunday in Ramallah, the support provided to the Palestinian people by Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, President of the Al Quds Committee.

Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, who was received by the Moroccan Ambassador to Palestine, Abderrahim Meziane, paid tribute to the efforts of the Kingdom of Morocco, King, government and people, in support of the inalienable and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, congratulating the strong relations uniting the Palestinian and Moroccan people.

The Imam of the Al Aqsa Mosque spoke, during this meeting, of the difficult conditions experienced by the Palestinian people in general, and the City of Al-Quds and its Holy Places in particular, as well as the violations targeting the Mosque of ‘Al Aqsa, calling on the international community to act to end the war against the Palestinians, the Palestinian Wafa news agency reported.

For his part, the Moroccan ambassador to Palestine assured that the Kingdom, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, “will spare no effort in supporting the Palestinian people,” highlighting the tireless efforts of Morocco in favor of a ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the populations of Gaza and Al Quds.

The ambassador also highlighted the continued action of the Bayt Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency, in accordance with the High Directives of His Majesty, in support of the Maqdessis and for the preservation of the historical and civilizational character of the Holy City, as well as as well as in health, education and support for social projects as well as young people and children.

Furthermore, Mr. Meziane expressed his desire to develop bilateral cooperation between the institution of Dar Al-Iftaa and other religious institutions in Palestine and their Moroccan counterparts, in order to raise it to the level of privileged relations linking the two brother peoples, in the service of the Al Aqsa Mosque and for the preservation of the religious sites of the Holy City.
