Indian warship Tushil docks at Casablanca port to strengthen bilateral and naval cooperation with Morocco

The Indian warship Tushil docked at the port of Casablanca on December 27. Rabat and New Delhi have increased cooperation initiatives in 2024.

The Indian warship Tushil docked on Friday, December 27 at the port of Casablanca as part of a mission intended to consolidate bilateral relations and naval cooperation between India and Morocco, according to Indian media and information confirmed with from Barlamane.com. Like India, Morocco is a maritime country with a strategic geographical position, with a coastline connecting the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

This visit aims to explore new prospects for cooperation between the two navies. It may be recalled that in the last twelve months, three other Indian warships – Tabar, Tarkash and Sumedha – also called at Casablanca, thereby strengthening mutual trust and bilateral collaboration.

During its two-day stay, the Tushil crew will engage in professional exchanges with members of the Royal Moroccan Navy. In addition, senior officers and other distinguished personalities will be welcomed on board, with a view to promoting naval cooperation, diplomatic relations and friendship between the two nations.

The visit will conclude with a joint naval exercise at sea, known as Passexwhich will allow the two navies to develop their operational capabilities and share best practices.

The Tushil, a frigate commissioned on December 9, 2024 in Russia, has a dedicated crew of 250 members.
