(Montreal) A man in his fifties was seriously injured following an armed attack that occurred Thursday evening in Sainte-Croix, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region.

Emergency services were called to the Laurier Street area around 6 p.m. Thursday, following the armed attack, “while the victim, in all likelihood, was outside his home. property,” indicated Sergeant Audrey-Anne Bilodeau, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
The suspect(s) subsequently fled on foot. “A vast mobilization and search operation was put in place in order to locate them,” said Mr.me Bilodeau.
The victim was transported to a hospital in critical condition. However, she was in stable condition Friday morning.
The Major Crimes Investigation Department of the SQ is responsible for the investigation in this case.
Investigators and crime scene technicians were at the scene of the attack during the night from Thursday to Friday to shed light on the circumstances of this event.
