RER E: traffic interrupted on the entire line after a “serious personal accident” in Pantin

This Thursday morning, traffic on several lines, RER and TER, was interrupted for several hours following a “personal accident” which occurred shortly after 7 a.m., at Pantin station. At that moment, a user triggered the alarm signal to alert the competent authorities. Traffic is now cut “on the entire line until 10:30 a.m.”, specifies the RER E account X (formerly Twitter).

After an initial resumption of traffic announced for 8 hours, a new post now reports an estimated resumption at 10:30 a.m.

The Transilien line also impacted

Furthermore, this accident has repercussions on a Transilien line. Traffic is therefore interrupted between Noisy-le-Sec and -Est in both directions on the TER grand Est Paris line. Firefighters arrived at the scene of the accident several tens of minutes ago. The resumption of traffic on this line is also planned around 10:30 a.m.

Less than two weeks ago, the promise was made that a train would run every 4 minutes during rush hours on the RER E. But from December 16, the day of the inauguration of this new system, a electrical failure and an alarm signal sounded at Porte Maillot had significantly slowed down traffic on Monday morning. The promise of a train every 4 minutes between and Rosa Parks could therefore not be honored.

During 2025, nearly 650,000 passengers per day are expected on the line, compared to around 370,000 today. Including 60,000 at La Défense – Grande Arche station alone.
