Santa Claus has left the North Pole for his traditional world tour, but this year again, he has decided to add a little local touch to his cast. In Candillargues, in Hérault, he swapped his sleigh and his reindeer for a Camargue horse-drawn carriage. An original way of proving that he also knows how to adapt to regional traditions.

This year again, Santa Claus is showing off his imagination. HAS Candillargues, in Hérault, it a decided to put aside its traditional sled and allow a little time to respite from his reindeer. Because he made the choice todistribute gifts to the village children in a Camargue horse-drawn carriage. An idea original blown by the village festival committee.
Christmas and the Camargue go very well together. The proof, with our carriage and our Camargue horses which replace the reindeer. It’s magical, it’s magical!”
Anthony Melin, Mayor of Candillargues
The red man iscaccompanied by volunteers from the town hall. In particular, they supervise the harnessing and guiding to the homes of the local children to be spoiled. There are many volunteers who are happy to participate in the magic of Christmas for a few hours. Thanks to them, no less than 80 gifts were distributed in the town this year.
It's magical, that's why we come back every year. We bring stars into the eyes of children… and also adults!
The carriage, led by Camargue horses at the head of the procession, does not go unnoticed. Families are already outside, eager to have the chance to take a few photos with the star of the day. Children can even exchange a few words with Santa Claus. And, as always, he has prepared treats to accompany his gifts.
I think it’s great! That’s the magic of Christmas! Seeing the children amazed makes it all real. They are so happy to see Santa Claus in real life!
Faced with such success, Santa Claus has already promised to return next year for a new tour in Camargue style. And why not export this magical tour to other municipalities.
