New year, changes to make. As of January 1, 2025, the ZFE (low emissions zone) will be set up in .

This perimeter, where pollution should be less, will extendu Havre in Sainte-Adresse, to the southern end of Octeville-sur-Mer (route de la Chesnaie) as well as a street on -la-Mallet (rue Louis Lumière). And above all, it will include an important obligation: the vignette Crit’air.

What will this sticker be used for?

Affixed to the windshield, this sticker is used to identify the degree of pollution of the vehicle depending on its age, engine type and fuel used. They are classified from 1 to 5 “according to their polluting emissions of fine particles and nitrogen oxides”, state services indicate.

In Le Havre, she will therefore be mandatory, including for electric vehicles, from January 1, 2025date on which the ZFE will be established.

What is an EPZ?

A low emissions zone is therefore set up to fight against pollution and improve the health of residents. It includes roadways where the circulation of the most polluting vehicles is restricted.

The price of a Crit'air sticker is 3.77 euros per vehicle (3.11 euros + 0.66 euros postage). It is valid for the entire life of the vehicle.

How to get it?

You will be asked your registration certificatein other words the registration document, if you purchased your vehicle in . For a vehicle registered abroad, you will need a legible photo of the registration certificate.

If you don't get your sticker on time, don't panic: the ZFE will be set up on 1is January, but education will be required in the first weeks, indicated Pascal Leprettre, vice-president of the urban community of Le Havre, at the time of the presentation of this system. “No fine [d’un montant de 68 ans] will not be distributed in the first months. »

Also, when you receive your purchase invoice for this sticker, it contains “the provisional certificate which attests to your order. It is admissible in the event of control by the police. Consider printing it and presenting it,” indicates the urban community.

Which vehicles will be prohibited from driving in Le Havre?

In the Océane city, vehicles with a sticker of 4 or 5 will not be prohibited from driving, unlike in . On the other hand, some of them, unclassified, will indeed be affected by a traffic ban, i.e. less than 1% of the Urban Community's stock.

These are:

  • Private vehicles registered before January 1, 1997;
  • Light utility vehicles registered before October 1, 1997;
  • Heavy goods vehicles registered before October 1, 2001;
