“Merry Christmas everyone! This time of year is so special: it's a time to gather with loved ones, celebrate the holiday spirit, and express gratitude for all that makes this world so great. For Christians, it is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and reflect on his story, which embodies kindness, forgiveness and faith. The lessons drawn from the story of his life are universal. They are a source of inspiration and they comfort us every time we hear them again and again,” he said in a press release.
“For you, the holidays may mean large family gatherings, festive meals, gift-giving and celebration. For others, however, this time can be very difficult. For people who are grieving, worried or alone, it can even be the most difficult time of the year, when loneliness is most felt. So let's take this opportunity to hear from people around us who have had a difficult year and who may need us more than we think,” added Mr. Trudeau.
The Prime Minister took the opportunity to “thank those who dedicate themselves to making Canada the country of which we are so proud.”
“As we reflect on the year that ends and the year that begins, let us continue to show love and kindness to ourselves and those in need. Let us also take the time to thank those who dedicate themselves to making Canada the country of which we are so proud. I am thinking, among others, of the courageous members of the Canadian Armed Forces, the valiant first responders and essential workers and the countless volunteers. Thank you all,” said Mr. Trudeau.
He concluded his message by hoping “that this holiday brings joy to the hearts of those who celebrate it and comfort to those who suffer.” “Wherever you are, I hope the year ahead is full of light and hope. »

Political observers are talking about many scenarios that could occur in the coming months, after the political tumult that shook the Trudeau government in recent weeks. A federal election campaign in the spring is the most plausible hypothesis.
