AS Saint-Étienne is going through a difficult period with an increase in injuries in its squad. New coach Eirik Horneland must now deal with two new major absences, those ofIbrahim Sissoko et Younis Abdelhamidboth suspended for the next match against Reims on January 4.
Ibrahim Sissoko's expulsion
Sent off in the 20th minute of play during the defeat against Marseille (0-4), Ibrahim Sissoko will be automatically suspended for the reception of Reims. However, the Commission de discipline could increase his punishment due to the blow to Balerdi's face.
Yunis Abdelhamid suspended after yellow card
The Saint-Etienne captain Younis Abdelhamid also receives an automatic suspension after receiving a third yellow card in less than ten matches, against Marseille. After warnings against Angers and Toulouse, this new yellow deprives him of the next Ligue 1 match. A significant absence for the ASSE defense which loses its experienced leader.
Other potential suspensions
Two other players from Saint-Etienne, Lucas Stassin et Bouchouariare under threat of suspension in the event of another yellow card. Stassin will have to avoid yellow for four games, while Bouchouari has five games credit. These potential suspensions would further aggravate the already worrying situation of the ASSE workforce.
