BURGUNDY-FRANCHE-COMTÉ: Céréales and Total Energies commit to developing agrivoltaism

As part of a partnership, renewed on December 16, the agricultural cooperative and the energy company plan to install 200 MW of agrivoltaic projects in Burgundy-Franche-Comté by 2030.

TotalEnergies and Céréales are proud to announce the strengthening of their partnership aimed at co-developing agrivoltaic projects in the Burgundy Franche-Comté region.

Since April 2020, TotalEnergies and Dijon Céréales and the BFC Alliance have been working closely to develop agrivoltaic solutions. The Channay demonstrator, initiated in 2021, is a concrete example of the cooperation established between the two actors. This site, which has already welcomed more than 1,000 professional and institutional visitors, illustrates the benefits brought by vertical bifacial photovoltaic panels on the farmer's land and crops.

Farmers in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region are increasingly subject to climatic hazards, which requires offering innovative solutions to promote the sustainability of their farms.

TotalEnergies and Dijon Céréales are combining their expertise to develop agrivoltaic projects. Thanks to its in-depth knowledge of the territory and its close relationships with farmers, Dijon Céréales will identify the farms most suitable for hosting agrivoltaic projects. TotalEnergies will be responsible for the studies, development, construction and operation of the project in co-activity with the farmers.

As part of this partnership with Dijon Céréales, TotalEnergies will provide agrivoltaic solutions adapted to the needs of each farm. The partners already have several projects under development for more than 300 hectares in the region. TotalEnergies and Dijon Céréales therefore aim to install at least 200 MW of agrivoltaic projects in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region by 2030.

“We are very proud to continue our commitment to the agricultural world. By working together with Dijon Céréales, we are developing agrivoltaic projects presenting real synergies between low-carbon electricity production and agricultural production. Our proximity to the agricultural world is part of a new dimension and we intend to support it in its transformation for the years to come” – Marin de Montbel, Managing Director, TotalEnergies Renouvelables

“This partnership is meaningful and is part of a perpetual quest to adapt farms to climatic and societal challenges. Our joint projects with TotalEnergies aim to strengthen the resilience of our agriculture while responding to the challenges of more energy. green.” – Christophe Richardot, Managing Director, Dijon Céréales Group and Alliance BFC
