The mortar fire took out municipal police vehicles. Sunday evening, a group of young hooded people attacked the silk-screened cars of the PM of Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône. Two of them, parked in the small car park adjoining the premises, were partially destroyed by incendiary devices.

The facts occurred on Sunday evening. It was around 9:45 p.m. when a group of young people gathered in front of the premises. Some then target the vehicles with fireworks mortars, thus managing to set fire to the two targeted cars. Vehicles which were parked in a public car park which is not protected, with a few spaces being reserved for PM.

Three suspects including a minor in police custody

Sunday evening, the intervention of municipal police and national police personnel led to the arrest of three people, including a minor, suspected of having taken an active part in the operation, while the firefighters are committed to extinguishing the fire and limiting its impact on vehicles. The three suspects were in police custody this Monday morning in the premises of the police station, where the police were responsible for the investigation.

According to the first elements collected, the operation carried out by the hooded young people follows a series of interventions by the municipal police determined to fight against drug trafficking in the center of Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône.

There were several interventions, and 150 g of narcotics were seized,” confides the mayor’s chief of staff. “This reaction clearly shows that our action is effective. Furthermore, the chief of staff indicates that the municipal police have also been able to strengthen their workforce with three additional agents who have been recruited in recent months. “There are enough staff to cover the entire day,” he adds, specifying that the two burned cars are not completely destroyed. “We will be able to repair them. In any case, we have enough vehicles to allow our agents to work in the field. »
