A mobilization at the initiative of the CGT. On December 22, 2024, the union of Transdev Rouen (formerly TCAR), the company managing the public transport network in the metropolis of Rouen (Seine-Maritime), filed a strike notice for a period of 50 minutes a dayMonday to Sunday.
This notice, which includes all staff, extends over a very long period, ranging from December 28, 2024 to September 30, 2025.
What impact on transport?
Concerning the reasons for this strike, the CGT notes for example the “deterioration of the working conditions of technical service agents”, deplores “the working conditions of drivers since the establishment of services on November 4, 2024 as well as the non-replacement of employees who have retired” .
The impact on transport remains for the time being difficult to measure. When asked, Guillaume Aribaud, general director of Transdev, indicates that drivers have “the obligation to declare themselves 48 hours before the date of notice”.
But before getting there, he hopes to be able to communicate with the union. “Our goal has always been to discuss and find solutions together. We have always reached the path of dialogue,” he insists. It remains to be seen whether the strikers will reconsider their positions.
This principle of daily disengagement is a method already used in the past. We also questioned the legality of the process a few years ago.
Details of the announced strike are available on the CGT website
