The hospital service agents (ASH) of the Angers University Hospital have been mobilized for several weeks to denounce “ reorganizations, job cuts and to demand their return to the care teams ».
This Friday, December 20, 2024, a delegation of ASH and representatives of the FO and Sud santé unions was received by Chistophe Béchu, president of the Supervisory Board and Cécile Jaglin-Grimonprez, General Director of the CHU.
« Staff members were received to present their demands as well as a petition signed by nearly 1,000 hospital workers. There are 1000 hospital workers who support the ASHs. 1000 hospital workers who refuse these reorganizations providing for job cuts for the benefit of a private company. This reorganization project did not improve working conditions, quite the contrary. For example, the numbers are divided by two or three during the week and on weekends. Today, only one colleague is stationed at PTO North instead of five », Explains the Force Ouvrière union.
The ASHs request in particular the maintenance of all staff and an end to job cuts, the replacement of all work stoppages and vacant positions and the return of the ASHs to the care teams and reduction of the scope of intervention.
For its part, the management of the Angers University Hospital indicated that at the end of this meeting, three commitments had been made: “ a comparative analysis of the biocleaning function within other health establishments will be carried out. It will put the CHU reorganization project into perspective; the professionals in charge of biocleaning have, for several months, been involved in the choice of their equipment and the amount of investments already made and future on their equipment will be communicated to them. The University Hospital is working to reduce the arduousness of work and to reduce the use of chemicals in biocleaning; from 2025, the HR department will offer professional promotions to ASHs to enable them to occupy local management functions. Management thus promotes the ASH function, offers prospects for individual development to agents, while complying with the unions' request to have local supervision for biocleaning. These executives will have an important role in improving the coordination of work in connection with the supervision of care services. ».
