“After an acceleration of negotiations this weekend, we have finally reached an agreement in principle,” said Anne-Marie Bellerose, president of the FIPEQ-CSQ.
The agreement in principle, lasting five years (2023-2028), targets more than 2,000 employees working in early childhood centers, according to the office of the Minister responsible for Government Administration and President of the Council of treasure, Sonia LeBel.
In a press release issued by the firm on this subject, it is specified that this agreement will promote better access to services for parents and their children, while making it possible to promote staff, offer greater support to educators and to lighten their task. The agreement should also improve the attraction and retention of staff.
“As in all negotiations, the details will remain confidential until the members have decided,” it is also underlined.
This agreement will be presented to the unions at the beginning of January 2025, who will then submit them to their members during general meetings.
“In the meantime, the FIPEQ-CSQ is suspending the six-day strike mandate that it had in its hands,” it is specified in a press release from the Federation of Early Childhood Workers of Quebec on this subject.
