Before taking stock of the 2023-2024 season during the general assembly of the ADA Blois Basket 41 which was held Wednesday evening at the Tabarly gymnasium, President Philippe Dufour expressed the pleasure he had at finding and to accommodate such a well-stocked flowerbed.
527 out of 2,812
in Loir-et-Cher
This assembly marking the end of the 2024 season was once again of good quality, a continuation of the previous one, even better. “We have found our cruising speed, marked once again by a historic record in the number of our licensees, rejoices the president. There are now 527 of us, an increase of 8.2%, after the increase of 12.7% and the increase of 31.7% in the two previous seasons. »
This result largely contributes to the spectacular rise in the department which now stands at 2,812 licenses. “This record could have been more significant without all the refusals of new licensees at the start of last season due to the lack of available slots, regrets Philippe Dufour. I hope that the delivery of the performance center scheduled for the end of 2025 will help us cover part of our needs, but it will not fully compensate them. It will at least have the advantage of facilitating conviviality by recreating a living space at the club, expected by everyone. »
Need volunteers
The president also made a point of recalling the need for reinforcements to keep the association running: “Despite everything, we had an intense and emotional sporting year for our 33 teams. But we will have to significantly increase the number of our volunteers, whom I thank greatly, for the daily missions to be covered each week on and off the field, even if this season has seen significant progress on this point. If I could inspire vocations…”
The other area for improvement concerns the insufficient development of 3×3 basketball.
Finally, the behavior of the players and coaches was up to par: “I will also remember a personal satisfaction, essential in my eyes as president, namely the absence of a summons to a disciplinary committee, even if there were technical faults whistled against our licensees in the male categories over 15 years old. »
