Around 10-10:30 p.m., a person came to him asking for “help”, explaining that there was “a problem”. “We didn’t really know what we were getting ourselves into. We followed her into the establishment and we saw the two corpses. There was a pool of blood,” he described to our microphone.
According to him, there were “no shell casings or impacts on the walls”. “They weren’t jokers who did this, but people who knew about it,” he said.

The man interviewed by BFM Toulon Var had never met the couple, a 29-year-old from Marseillais and his partner, but knows that they had just arrived in the town. A shopkeeper, who works near the night grocery store, told BFM Toulon Var that she didn't know them “that much”, but that they were “always super nice” when she came across them.
The news of their death, which she learned this Sunday morning, is “shocking”. “This could happen to us at any time, even if we have nothing to reproach ourselves for,” she added.
An event of “extreme violence”
Cheikh Mansour, deputy in charge of municipal police, security and tranquility in La Seyne-sur-Mer, told BFM Toulon Var of “a certain sadness” after the death of the couple. An event of “extreme violence which greatly shocked the people of Seynois”.
He said that “80 checks” had recently been carried out in night grocery stores. “We asked the prefecture to organize an urgent meeting in order to deal with this recurring problem which causes numerous problems for the public security of residents,” he indicated, specifying that he wanted, as in Marseille, an order to authorize the closure of grocery stores at night in certain areas of the city.
An investigation was entrusted to the Toulon judicial police (DCOS). According to our information, a man was arrested in the city of Beaucaire, in Toulon. In possession of ammunition, he was trying to get rid of clothes. He was taken into custody.
