Manche, Ille-et-Vilaine and Côtes-d'Armor are affected by this wind vigilance which should begin mid-morning on Sunday.
A clear warning. In a bulletin published late Saturday morning, December 21, Météo France placed three departments, Manche, Ille-et-Vilaine and Côtes-d'Armor, on orange alert for violent wind phenomena. This vigilance must begin Sunday, December 22 at 10 a.m. and end in the middle of the afternoon.
According to the meteorological institute, these winds are carried by the Enol depression “located to the west of Norway” and by a “powerful anticyclone located in the North Atlantic.”
In this press release, it is also indicated that the departments of Finistère, Calvados and Seine-Maritime should be affected by these violent winds, but their vigilance levels are not changing for the moment.
Météo France has also placed three other departments on orange snow-ice alert (from 9 a.m. Sunday) and avalanche alert from 6 p.m. Sunday). These three departments are Isère, Savoie and Haute-Savoie.
But other regions could move from yellow to orange. “Due to the significant snowfall expected in the Pyrenees during the night from Sunday to Monday, a worsening of the level of snow-ice vigilance is possible by Sunday evening, specifies Météo France.
