In a recent statement, Amadou Chérif Diouf, Secretary of State for Senegalese Abroad, highlighted the major progress made by the Senegalese government in issuing passports to Senegalese Abroad.

In 2023, he reports that the government has carried out “passport transport missions in 17 countries, allowing the distribution of around 3,500 documents”. However, according to Mr. Diouf, these figures are largely exceeded this year, with “more than 5000 passports produced in just 8 months. »

This success results, according to him, since the arrival of the new regime, missions have been sent to 31 countries around the world, covering four continents. This dynamic is accompanied by close collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior to improve the passport issuing process.

Mr. Diouf stressed that “Passport issuance should never be a problem in a serious country. » And they are working on digitalization of the process, optimization of the number of passport pages and extension of their validity period.
