Designed by Julie Besançon, heritage and culture facilitator at the tourist office, the elves' walk will take place on December 23 and December 26.
The idea of the walk is simple: transform each participant into a Christmas elf and lead them through the illuminated streets of Montluçon. The medieval facades, churches, and cobbled streets are transformed into a magical setting where stops become opportunities to tell Christmas stories. ” Sometimes the story has a direct link to the place, sometimes it does not. But no matter, the medieval city becomes a setting for these stories “explains Julie Besançon.
A family and festive moment
Designed for families, this activity offers a unique moment of sharing. The selected tales vary each year to suit all ages, from the youngest to the oldest. “We choose short and captivating stories so as not to lose the audience's attention, with different reading levels so that everyone can find what they are looking for.”specifies the host.
Launched four years ago, the Elves' Walk has become an unmissable event during the Christmas holidays. Each route is unique, offering new stops and perspectives on local heritage. “What stands out is the enthusiasm of the children. They really get into the game and want more even after the ride is over.”
A surprise to end the walk
At the end of the course, a surprise awaits all participants, to prolong the magic of the moment. If you are looking for an activity that is both festive and cultural, the Ballade des Lutins is an invitation to discover Montluçon in a new light, in the light and spirit of Christmas. Don't miss this enchanted walk in the medieval city, where history and magic intertwine to create unforgettable memories.
