IUT students in marketing techniques put their skills at the service of solidarity. During a ceremony last Monday, they handed over a total of €3,920 to two local associations, at the end of their annual commercial action project.
Supervised by Séverine Persico, educational manager, and Christophe Troislouches, director of the Pépinière company, the one hundred and ten students put their business knowledge into practice to raise funds. The sum, the fruit of their efforts, was distributed between two Auxerre associations that they themselves chose: ICAH, which supports the education of guide dogs for the blind, and Auxerrevice des déprivés, which helps people in great need. .
“Being involved in such deserving causes has strengthened our commitment,” confides a student, emphasizing the motivating nature of this dual social and educational mission. This initiative was also special for Séverine Persico, who will soon leave the IUT to pursue her career in Corsica.
Their commitment is a source of hope
The €2,946 donated to ICAH will directly contribute to the education of eight guide dogs for the blind, a valuable support according to Jean-Bernard Bourgoin, president of the association.
For his part, Abdelaziz Hajji, president of Auxerrevice for the destitute, expressed his gratitude for the €974 collected, which will make it possible to offer couscous meals for Christmas to people in very precarious situations. “In a context where young people are themselves affected by economic difficulties, their commitment to solidarity is a source of hope. »
Beyond the financial aspect, several students have chosen to extend their commitment by participating in maraudes organized by Auxerrevice for the poor. Among them, Saliha Reggane, who confides: “This experience reinforced my desire to fight against exclusion. I was very touched to be able to interact with homeless people and help them concretely. »
