The events took place on October 23. An 84-year-old woman was the victim of rape during a burglary at her home located in the town of Pont-de-Claix (Isère), near Grenoble. The perpetrators, before leaving the scene, stole several personal effects including jewelry belonging to the victim.
After several weeks of investigation, two minors who could be involved in this case were identified by the police: “The first, suspected of being the perpetrator of the rape, unknown until now to the police and the justice system, is 16 years old, while the second, aged 17, participated in the theft keeping watch outside the home”specifies the Grenoble public prosecutor, Eric Vaillant, confirming information from the Dauphiné Libéré.
These two young people were arrested on December 17 in Pont-de-Claix and Cannet-des-Maures, in the Var, and placed in police custody.
During their hearings, they revealed that the father of the 17-year-old minor, aged 42, was the instigator of the theft during which the rape was committed. He was therefore arrested and placed in police custody.
The forty-year-old and the two minors were presented to an investigating judge who indicted them. The youngest, aged 16, admitted to the rape and was placed in pre-trial detention. The other two were placed under judicial supervision.
