The modified route
“The acquisition of works produced in Asia for Europeans, from the arrival of the Portuguese in the 16the century and during the East India Company period, 1600-1838, is a priority of the East India Company Museum. For around fifteen years, the latter has modified its permanent route following the arrival of new collections (purchases, donations, deposits) in order to illustrate more broadly overseas trade, its mechanisms, its consequences, at the time of first globalizations »recalled Sophie Palant-Le Hegarat, deputy in charge of culture.
Three donations from the association of friends of the Compagnie des Indes museum were also validated.
