Every year, many fir trees are disposed of with household waste or thrown onto public roads. They must be incinerated, which is costly for the community and contrary to sustainable development practices.

The neighborhood councils of , with the support of the municipality and the support of technical services, invite the residents of Quimper to make a gesture that is both ecological and economical, by giving a second life to the fir trees!

As part of the campaign to promote Christmas trees, voluntary drop-off points are set up throughout the neighborhoods to allow Quimper residents to drop off their trees in the best conditions. Instead of being abandoned in the street, they will be transformed into shredded material.

In order to optimize the recovery of this green waste, the trees must be devoid of decoration, not flocked, without bags and without metal base type legs.

Please do not leave anything at the bottom of the bins, nor put any other objects in the bins other than Christmas trees.

The trees can be placed at five voluntary drop-off points from Thursday December 26, 2024 to Tuesday January 7, 2025:

  • Ergué Armel Town Hall – Avenue Léon Blum
  • City center – Allée de Locmaria (left bank car park after Max Jacob bridge)
  • Former Penhars Town Hall – Avenue des Oiseaux
  • MJC/MPT de Kerfeunteun – Avenue Teilhard de Chardin (bowling ground)
  • MJC/MPT du Moulin Vert – Chemin de Prateyer
