Flowell, innovative signage for cyclists

The Flowell system combines light lines and bicycle pictograms to ensure the continuity of the cycle lane at the intersection of the RD50 (Rue Rouget de Lisle) and the RD7 (Quai Franklin Roosevelt), before the Issy bridge towards Boulogne -Billancourt.

This device alerts motorists to the presence of cyclists on the cycle lane and incorporates dynamic markings which illuminate the passage of bicycles when the light is green. It thus encourages the stopping of vehicles turning right towards the RD7, reducing the risks linked to blind spots or poor nighttime visibility.

An innovation part of an ambitious European project

This initiative is part of the European project Elaboratorin which Issy-les-Moulineaux and Colas participate. Launched in June 2023 and funded by the Horizon Europe program, Elaborator brings together 38 partners from 14 countries and will continue until November 2026.

In parallel with Flowell, Issy is also testing:

· Geco Aira free mobile application from IFPEN, which helps optimize the carbon footprint of travel.

· And mobility observatorydesigned with Urban Radar, to map travel flows in near real time.

A vision for inclusive and sustainable mobility

The Elaborator project aims for better integration of modes of transport (cars, public transport, bicycles, scooters, pedestrians) while promoting safer and environmentally friendly mobility. Issy-les-Moulineaux thus confirms its role as a pioneer in urban innovation and ecological transition.
