Canceled due to security conditions and largely insufficient resources committed to hosting an event with 7,000 spectators at the Stade de la Vallée du Cher, the match between Tours FC (R1) and in FC Lorient was officially canceled on Saturday afternoon. The 32nd finals of the Coupe from France turned into a fiasco for the amateur club, its players and its supporters, who will perhaps see their team eliminated without even playing. According to information from L'Équipe, the decision concerning the postponement or not of what was to be the last match of 2024 for the two teams will be given this Monday.

Even if the FFF competitions commission will not make a decision until 12/23, our colleagues from L'Équipe indicate that the doubt concerning the result of this meeting remains very slim, given the timing and the busy program of the professional club which resumes training on 12/30 and competition on January 4, 2024. Indeed, there is perhaps a slim chance of seeing the match being played during the week, on Tuesday 01/07 or on Wednesday 08/01, but the most probable remains the victory on the green carpet of the Breton team which traveled to Touraine for nothing because of the management of its opponent who did not do what was necessary.
