Last representative of Seine-et-Marne at the end of the regional final phases, the U18 team of the US Torcy – Paris Vallée de la Marne had made an impression by qualifying for the first federal round of the Gambardella Cup after a clear victory against the Pays de Fontainebleau (3-0, November 24, 2024), at home.
Opposed to the Racing Club d’Épernay Champagne this December 15, 2024, the young players from Torcy had to to battle to overcome the current leader of the R1 Grand Est championship.
Away from their bases and led very early in the match (1-0, 2nd), the Seine-et-Marnais managed to return to height from their opponents, just before the quarter of an hour of play, through Eliott Robi (1-1, 13th).
Tied until the end of regulation time, Torcy was able to keep his composure to join the next round, following the traditional penalty shootout (1-1, 4-5 on the tabs).
Match against Reims
Qualified for the thirty-second finals of the Gambardella Cup, the under-18s of Torcy finally know the identity of their next opponents. In fact, they learned this Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 12 p.m., that they were going to face Reims Stadium. The second federal round will be played on Sunday January 12, 2025 for all the teams still in the running.
