Jean-Noël Lanthiez and Sylvie-Constance de Pasquale, whose artist name is Constance, both passionate about photography, had set up their respective activities in the spring of 2023 in the art studio located at 4, rue Saint-Pierre, in La Châtre. They have just left it to move into another art studio made available by the City at 13 bis, rue Venôse.

“Welcome other artists, open up to other talents and skills”

In this same place will be the structure of Jean-Noël and Constance, L’Atelier Saint-Pierre, which is installed on the mezzanine, with, on the ground floor, the space transformed into an exhibition space. It can be loaned to offer workshops to the public or to artisans who would like to talk about their profession.

“By taking these new premises, we realized the amplitude of the space, which brought back ideas of welcoming other artists, of opening up to other talents and skills”confides Jean-Noël Lanthiez. As a result, an association was created: Le Comptoir des workshops (art gallery, curiosities, objects from here and elsewhere) to accommodate artists’ workshops, art artisans, crafts monastic, etc. “They can be recognized, in the process of being recognized or who have real talent, there can also be people who have talent and who are a little in the shadows”specifies Constance.

A first Berry Christmas exhibition and pop-up shop is open until Tuesday December 24. She welcomes several artists, notably Mariepierremorel, who offers work around photoengraving, she regularly exhibits at the Tourette gallery in where she lives and works, independent photographer since 1989. She has illustrated numerous cooking and decoration works for the editions Chêne, Flammarion and La Martinière.

“Create at high points during the year”

At the same time, the public will be able to discover and appreciate the work of several other artists, Pascale Boucholzer (sculpture), Terre Blanche (ceramics), Sabine Halm (lace) and Anaïs Baseilhac (photography). “The idea is to create at high points in the year with four or five exhibitions and in the intermediate periods, opening the space to people who want to give courses or to an artist who is looking for a place to set up your own exhibition. »

Exhibition open until Tuesday December 24 from Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday December 15 and 22 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Information by email [email protected]
