“Christmas and its artists’ palette” is an exhibition which brings together eight friends, eight Tarn painters, at the G3A Gallery in Albi, until Tuesday December 31, 2024.
In this 14th century mansion located in the small rue du Castelviel in Albi, eight friends, all painters, took over the walls for a unique end-of-year exhibition. Everyone reveals their particular technique and their universe: oil, pastel, watercolor, gouache… The works reflect a diversity of themes ranging from landscapes to portraits, including still lifes, villages… and even nudes. “These nudes are sketches made in very quick poses, lasting only a few minutes”specifies Monique de Moor, one of the watercolorists in this group of painter friends.
An artistic space for exchange and sharing
“We come together to spend the end-of-year holidays in the shadow of the cathedral, in this place of life and sharing », explains Monique de Moor. “The idea for this exhibition was born simply: two of us suggested to other artists, who do not often have the opportunity to exhibit, to come and hang their paintings, together, at the Castelviel gallery. They liked the project and we transformed this place into a pleasant space for sharing and exchange. »
“We thought it was a lovely end-of-year artistic gift. And this was possible because you should know that the G3A Gallery offers amateurs, like us, the opportunity to exhibit their work all year round.adds Monique de Moor.
The exhibition “Christmas and its artist palette” is visible until December 31, 2024. Visitors are warmly welcomed by one of the artists, who will be delighted to tell the behind-the-scenes story of their work and its inspirations.
