Ukraine has received 4.1 billion euros (about $4.3 billion) from the European Union (EU) to finance its urgent social and humanitarian needs, the Finance Ministry announced on Wednesday.
kyiv, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) — Ukraine has received 4.1 billion euros (about 4.3 billion U.S. dollars) from the European Union (EU) to finance its urgent social and humanitarian needs , the Ministry of Finance announced on Wednesday.
These funds, provided through the Ukraine Facility financial instrument, were allocated to the Ukrainian national budget.
Of the total amount, 1.5 billion euros (or $1.57 billion) was granted as a non-repayable contribution.
With this latest disbursement, Ukraine has received the entire 16 billion dollars (or 16.8 billion dollars) planned by the Ukraine Facility for the year 2024. This financing makes the EU the largest donor of the Ukrainian budget among all international partners.
In 2025, kyiv plans to obtain financial assistance of 12.5 billion euros (about 13.1 billion dollars) under the Ukraine Facility.■
