The Place de Faréham of Valves (Morbihan) will have the right to a makeover. “It has no soul, is not beautiful and is open to all drafts,” repeats Mayor David Robo on each of his trips to the Cliscouët district. The project of redevelopment of the place was presented to residents on Thursday December 12, 2024. What should we remember?
What scope is concerned?
The redevelopment will take place at Place de Faréham and Square du Ponant. Consultations were carried out between the end of 2022 and the summer of 2024.
Car park modifications
The big change is the opening of the parking lot under the Place de Faréham to all. Thus, 108 places will be available.
“Today, it is only open to Morbihan Habitat (MH) residents at the rate of €30/month. The occupancy rate is only 20%,” indicates the community.
After the work, this will become free for MH tenants. “It will be €30/month for traders and local residents,” specifies the community.
On the other hand, for outdoor parking, there will be fewer parking spaces with greening: 35 places place de Faréham (compared to 75 currently), 8 places in Square du Ponnant and a 5-place drop-off point.
Greening the square
The place is a mineral space with uses that are difficult to identify. One of the objectives is to vegetate (planted space, furniture) by working on several identified places,” explained landscape architect Yannis Le Quintrec works on town planning projects in Vannes.
Here are some arrangements for the square du Ponant
- A central meadow, with a 15 meter long concrete bench
- Benches and benches
- 3 mini urban forests
- A multi-sports ground open to the square
- A PMR table tennis table
- A playground (net structure, cabin with slide, and a spring game)
- A deserted pedestrianized school with distribution square and bicycle parking
And for the Faréham square:
- Creation of a friendly urban garden square, made up of tree-filled plant islands, providing cool areas in summer and demineralizing this place.
- Positioning of urban furniture: Benches, seats and tables
- Conservation of parking on the edge of the square with the creation of 3 PRM spaces and a bicycle parking area.
- Quality lighting of the place with low consumption LEDs
- Maintenance of equipment allowing the reception of the Sunday market
- Design designed to allow video protection to function properly.
New housing
As part of this project, the community sold land. New housing will emerge from the ground:
There will be four small houses, which represent eight housing units in total, and two small collectives for 15 to 20 housing units in total.
Accommodation accessible via real solidarity lease (BRS) will be possible in some of the accommodations.
What is the work schedule?
Initially, “major structural work” of preliminary reinforcement of the slab structure of the Place de Faréham are in the pipeline from January to February 2025:
- Addition of posts and reinforcement of beams in the underground car park
- Necessary limitation and adaptation of the costs of the landscaping project for Place de Faréham.
There will also be a stage of modernization of the underground car park (painting, lighting, creation of boxes and addition of posts).
