According to the latest data published by INSEE, the population of Nice now reaches 356,603 inhabitants, compared to 351,011 in 2021.
In total, 5,592 additional Nice residents settled in the City of Nice between 2021 and 2022 (+1.6%).
Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, Deputy President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region welcomed these results:
“These 5,600 new residents of Nice are 5,600 additional proofs of the attractiveness of our City. Our efforts to make Nice a good place to live, work and invest are bearing fruit. The more Nice innovates and undertakes, the more it attracts and seduces. I welcome all the new Nice residents who join us, and I invite them to actively participate in the life of our beautiful city.”
Nice is thus accelerating its demographic dynamics: between 2020 and 2021, it gained around 5,000 inhabitants, representing an increase of 1.3%. With the 5,600 new residents of Nice recorded this year, growth reached 1.6%.
In total, between 2017 and 2022, Nice gained nearly 14,000 inhabitants in 6 years, representing growth of almost 4%.
These results underline Nice’s position among the most attractive cities in France and demonstrate the effectiveness of public policies carried out to improve the living environment and support the economic development of the City and the Metropolis.
