This Monday, December 16, the trial of six people began at the Vienna Assizes suspected of having ordered or participated in the kidnapping, then the murder of a drug trafficker in September 2020, in the town of Mignaloux-Beauvoir.
On September 6, 2020, a drug trafficker, named Khaled B., receives a phone call from another dealer. The latter arranges an appointment for him at the gas station in the town of Mignaloux-Beauvoir. The next morning, a car stops briefly in front of the hospital in the commune of Arpajon in Essonne. The body of the man, aged 37, wearing only sweatpants, was thrown from a car in front of the emergency room and the driver fled. Bruised by numerous injuries, the doctors at the hospital center were unable to resuscitate him.
A few months later, in January 2021, the investigators of the Poitiers judicial police seize of the folder and intcall out half a dozen suspects. The prosecution had then, at the time, entrusted to an investigating judge from the criminal division this investigation with the motives of kidnapping and sequestration, followed by death committed by an organized gang.
And to retrace this night of September 6 to 7, 2020, two witnesses were heard this Tuesday morning 17: two police officers, one from Poitiers, the other from the Paris suburbs where the victim’s body was found.
A trying moment for the civil parties since they saw the photos of the victim’s body lying on the road in front of the Arpajon maternity ward, in Essonne. He was covered in lesions and hematoma.
This man was, at the material time, the supplier of cocaine to Poitiers and was generating tens of thousands of euros. A profile that could arouse desire in the world of drug trafficking.
So was the victim betrayed by his dealers or by those who gravitated in this environment?
Many protagonists were interviewed during the investigation. An investigation which is also largely based on the geolocation of telephone calls made by all these individuals. Some actually limit themselves to the Total station in Mignaloux Beauvoir where the victim was kidnapped.
This is the case of the telephone of the main accused presented by several people as the instigator of this kidnapping. For the moment he has not given his version of the facts.
This trial should make it possible to establish the roles of each of the accused in this affair and to answer several questions concerning this ambush: who ordered it, who carried out the plan, what was the aim of this kidnapping? Was it to recover drugs or money?
The verdict is expected this Friday, Dec 20October. The three accused who appear for arrest, kidnapping and kidnapping, followed by death committed by an organized gang, face life imprisonment. Note that those accused of burning the car used to kidnap and transport the body of the deceased drug trafficker to the hospital in the Paris suburbs will be judged later.
