After being baptized in , its home port, on Monday October 28, in the presence of the city’s mayor and former prime minister Édouard Philippe, the Anemos, the first cargo sailboat of the Towt company, made its return to port of Concarneau, this Tuesday, December 17, around 4:30 p.m., under the admiring eyes of many walkers.

A long-planned technical stopover

“After more than four months of demanding navigation, and more than 1,000 tonnes of C02 already saved, the Anemos is making a long-planned technical stopover. It takes place within the framework of the guarantee for classic technical monitoring, on its construction site, at Piriou, in Concarneau. This will allow the innovative and prototypical ship to begin 2025 in the full capacity of its means,” indicated this Tuesday evening, December 17, Guillaume Le Grand, co-founder and president of Towt.

A successful first crossing of the Atlantic

On September 3, the 81-meter-long ship with masts reaching 52 meters in height, completed its first crossing of the Atlantic, arriving in New York, after 18 days at sea. More than a thousand tons of Goods were transported to the American continent. Anemos then connected Santa Marta, in Colombia, then, at the beginning of October, the port of Quebec. For the return trip to Le Havre, the Anemos’ holds were also full. The objective of the Towt company, founded in 2011, is clear: “Decarbonize global maritime transport”.
