The federation is already preparing for this: in mid-November, it sent establishments the list of essential services that it proposes to maintain. She is now waiting for a response from employers, Dr. Ghassen Soufi, president of the federation, reported in an interview on Tuesday.

Under the rules, the Administrative Labor Tribunal must assess the sufficiency of these services, even when there is an agreement between the employer and union parties.

The main points in dispute, as part of this negotiation, are the workload and remuneration.

The Federation wants its members who so wish to be able to benefit from a day of rest after seven consecutive days of work.

As for remuneration, Dr. Soufi reports that the current FMRQ agreement provides for a trailer clause, which stipulates that residents will obtain the same increases as those granted to state employees.

However, to pay these increases, the government would require more flexibility, predictability and not to reduce services to the population, relates Doctor Soufi.
