To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and , the Hong Kong Palace Museum, the Palace Museum and the Palace of in France jointly organized a special exhibition, “When the Forbidden City met the Palace of Versailles: exchanges between China and France in the 17th and 18th centuries ». Its opening took place the same day at the Hong Kong Palace Museum. The exhibition presents nearly 150 precious cultural relics from the collections of the Château Museum and the Château de Versailles.
