Prepare for the next year. This Tuesday December 17the elected officials of the city of Montauban revealed, in detail, the preliminary budget 2025adopted during the last Municipal Council held this Monday December 16e.
A budget and ambitions
With a budget, which will balance at around 135 million eurosthe City will try to “maintain an efficient trajectory of its operating expenseswhile continuing its policy of transformation of the territory with a ambitious investment project“.
The latter will therefore be part of the continuity of the rigorous and ambitious management carried out by the City in recent years, namely:
- a controlled operating expenses : per inhabitant, it is still close to 30% lower compared to equivalent cities (1,106 euros for Montauban)
- a attractive taxation with a property tax collected by the budget lower than in equivalent cities
- a ambitious equipment expenditure
- and debt repayment legally secured by a high level of own resources
A large volume of investment
Despite an uncertain economic climate, Montalbanese elected officials have also decided to maintain a significant volume of investments in 2025 with a proposed budget of around 42 million euros. Made up of several axes, it will finance the following projects:
- Building arrangements : 1.5 million euros for the work of the People’s House; 6.9 million euros for the work of City Hall III
- Urban developments : 824.000 euros for public lighting renovation work; 622.000 euros for the development of Montauriol, Gouze and Doumerc boulevards; 577.000 euros for the city tour garden; 1 million euros for the rehabilitation of the Jardin des Plantes funicular
- Sports sector : 1.7 million euros for the creation of the Sports Center of Excellence (CES); 1.7 million euros for the restructuring of the Sapiac stadium; 1 million euros for the renovation of the Saulou stadium
- Culture sector : 10.7 million euros for the work of the Current Music Scene and 631.400 euros for work in the Eurythmie room
- School sector : 7.6 million euros for the global performance market
- Sector “major maintenance and renewal of existing assets” : 2 million euros for furniture, vehicles, work studies, equipment and upgrading of existing buildings (schools, parks and gardens, sports, etc.)
Support for the associative sector
In this initial 2025 budget adopted this Monday, December 16, there will also be numerous subsidies which will benefit the various associative structures and projectswith amounts ranging from 25,000 euros to 315,000 euros.
