The first edition of Lille Horse Event ended on Sunday December 15 after four intense days and it was already a success, both in terms of sport and exhibition.
The end of 2024 marked the arrival of a new 100% horse-based event in the North of France, in Lille. For the first time, the Lille Grand Palais exhibition center hosted a horse show as well as two level 1 and 3* CSIs. According to the organizers, 15,000 visitors passed through the doors of the complex. “ An attendance beyond our expectations, they reported in a press release. From experienced riders to beginners, everyone was able to find a stirrup to suit their needs thanks to a varied range of exhibitors suitable for all audiences. »
For its first edition, Lille Horse Event took on the audacious challenge of offering both a CSI3* and a CSI1*. As for competitors, “ the feedback is unanimous “. The organizers explain that the competitors and their teams particularly emphasized “ the quality of facilities, reception, logistics and flow », as Patrick Bord, head of the stables, relates.
Marc Dilasser, forever the first winner of the 3* Grand Prix
In addition to promising young talents, there were internationally renowned riders. In addition to the sponsor of the event Nicolas Delmotte, who has represented the French team on numerous occasions and notably at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon in 2018, other big names in French equestrianism were among the competitors. Let us mention in particular Marc Dilasser, winner of the Grand Prix 3* (1.50 m) with Make My Day Z*du Gesvres. In this Grand Prix in two rounds, where the eleven best from the first started again for the second, he is the one to have achieved the fastest double clear round.
The 46-year-old Frenchman is one of the many riders to have highlighted the quality of the Lille meeting. “ We riders were impressed by this first edition. In terms of organization, we are close to perfection for a first event. The hall is splendid, the public wonderful and sometimes at the 5* Grands Prix, there are much fewer people in the stands. I believe that athletes really need audiences like this! »
On the clock, only twelve hundredths separate him from his runner-up, also a Tricolor since it is the reigning French Pro Elite champion couple, Cédric Hurel and Fantasio Floreval Z. The Dutchman Bas Moerings completes the podium with Kivinia.
CSI1*: The Good Fairy by François-Xavier Boudant
For its part, the CSI1* ended with a 100% tricolor podium in the Grand Prix (1.35 m). At its peak, we find the winner of the 5* Dublin Grand Prix in 2023, François-Xavier Boudant. This time, it was with Fée de Riverland that he achieved the best performance in the jump-off. But it was on the wire that he managed to win since he was only two hundredths less than Alexis Lheureux and Chendro MB Z. Aymeric Roussel took the third step of the podium with Hopeful de Blondel.
