This is the last stop of the year. The imposing cruise ship AIDANova stops in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (Manche) this Thursday December 12for the fourth time in 2024. On board, no less than 5,880 German passengers will set foot in the port city.
Once again, Cherbourg is the only and unique French stopover of this scarlet-mouthed behemoth. This is also the last stage of the route before the return to Hamburg port in Germany.
During this stopover in Cherbourg, cruise passengers will have the choice between several excursions: at Mont Saint-Michel, on the landing beaches, in the Val de Saireat Cap de la Hague and, of course, in Cherbourg.
66 ships in 2024
This concludes the stopovers for this 2024 season, which saw 66 ships dock in Cherbourg. The most nostalgic will be delighted to learn of the return of the AIDANova on January 7, for the opening of the 2025 season of Cherbourg stopovers.
A 2025 season which will also see the Queen Anne return on June 7: the British liner made its inaugural stopover at Cherbourg-en-Cotentin on October 14.
Another flagship of the cruise industry, the Disney dream, which made its first stopover in Cherbourg in July 2024, will return to delight liner lovers on August 23. Furthermore, the largest ship that will dock in Cherbourg in 2025 is none other than the Iona, which measures no less than 345 meters long.
