The big rehearsal! Saturday November 30, 2024 the firefighters of Condé-en-Normandie (Calvados) celebrated their patron saint: Saint Barbara’s Day. An appetizer before departmental ceremony organized on the Town Hall Square Saturday December 7, 2024 from 11 a.m.
They came together to highlight women and men who, throughout the year, provide service and assistance to all, sometimes at the risk of their lives.
Natacha Legendre, the only center manager in Calvados
This year 2024 in Condé-en-Normandie the firefighters are occurred 708 times. The ceremony began with a review of the troops and equipment. Wreaths were laid in front of the barracks stele in tribute to fallen firefighters.
Three medals of honor were presented to the corporal Orlane Mulois for 10 years of service, Thomas Robbe for 30 years of service and the center head badge for 5 years as center head for the lieutenant Natacha Legendre as well as the medal for 30 years of service. Natacha Legendre is still the only center manager in Calvados and also carried the Olympic flame during the Olympic Games in an unforgettable moment.
55 fires in 2024 and 72 accidents
Among the 708 interventions, the Volunteer Firefighters carried out 548 victim assistance, 55 fires, 72 accidents et 33 various operations. Natacha Legendre at the head of 49 Volunteer Firefighters wanted to congratulate them.
I am very grateful to you, you can be proud of yourself, for your dedication and your professionalism, for wearing this outfit during the snowy episode that Calvados experienced, many of you came spontaneously to the detriment of your families and for rapid intervention.
Soon, a new emergency vehicle
The rescue center also has 17 Young people Firefighters who have 100% successful their exams. A victim rescue vehicle will soon arrive, as will the expansion of the women's locker room.
Valérie Desquesne, mayor of Condé-en-Normandie, spoke to express her support. “You are very active. If possible, we will reconcile our personnel recruitment with your Firefighter needs. You carry strong values, you convey this image of cohesion.”
Senator Pascal Allizard highlighted the human qualities of Natacha Legendre to lead the rescue center. In the evening the firefighters parade from the rescue center to Saint-Martin church for a religious service celebrated by Father Fulgence Noel. To then return, still in parade, through the city center.
