The Oise firefighters celebrated Sainte-Barbe in Tillé

Prefect Jean-Marie Caillaud presented several medals on the occasion of Sainte-Barbe.

An appointment was made at the departmental fire and rescue service (Sdis) of Tillé (Oise) this Wednesday, December 4 to honor Sainte-Barbe, the boss of firefighters. The Oise firefighters were gathered, with their families, for a protocol ceremony, in the presence of the authorities and elected officials. Among them, the prefect recently arrived in Oise Jean-Marc Caillaudthe president of the department Nadège Lefebvrethe deputy David Magnierthe vice-president of Sdis Christophe Dietrich or the director of Sdis Luc Corack.

Under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Jean-Luc Desira, the ceremony took place in the interior courtyard of Sdis de l'Oise. Several officers were decorated.

Medals and promotions

First of all, Lt. Bernard Caillelieutenant Mathieu Devred et Deborah Galmiche received the Internal Security Medal, bronze level.

Then the lieutenant Jean-Luc Namur, the lieutenant Fabrice Vannymeerschthe chief adjutant Philippe Bondoux and the chief adjutant Claude Rio received the Grand Gold Medal for forty years of service.

Finally, Anthony Fouliard, Céline Dewaegeneer et Valerie Philias were awarded the Homeland Security Bronze Medal.

Finally, four firefighters received promotions. Jean-Patrick Vincent is promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel, Philippe Gouery at the rank of captain, Willie Delaolie to the rank of captain, and Catherine Polleux to the rank of lieutenant.

A plaque in honor of those killed in service

The ceremony ended with the roll call of those killed in service, before the laying of a wreath on their commemorative plaque. “We cannot celebrate Saint Barbara without remembering those who have disappeared», whispered Christophe Dietrich, representing Eric de Valroger, the president of Sdis de l’Oise. Before reminding that the latest is none other than the master corporal Joel Vandeputtefrom the Crépy-en-Valois rescue center, mowed down by a car on April 19, 1997. More recently, the adjutant Nicolas Defrocourtfrom the Breteuil rescue center, died on October 8, 2022, following discomfort upon returning to his home after his shift.

To pay tribute to them, a plate was unveiled inside the Sdis de Tillé, in the “inner street”, next to those who fell during the various wars. Eighteen names were registered there. We find:

A new plaque was inaugurated inside the Sdis premises in Tillé.
