The monthly Navigo will cost 88.80 euros instead of the current 86.40 euros from January 2025. Inflation forecast for 2025 is 1.8%. The price increase will be 2.8%. This increase is part of a financing agreement between Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) and the government dating from September 2023.
As part of this protocol, which plans to limit price increases for users by taking into account inflation, the increase is “moderate”we emphasize at IDFM.
From January 2025, it is also the start of a “ticket revolution” announced last September by the president of IDFM, Valérie Pécresse with the main measure the establishment of a single rate of 2.50 euros for the entire Île-de-France, the metro, train and RER and 2 euros for take the bus or tram.

This new price list presented on December 11 to the IDFM board of directors could lead to a drop in revenue, “valued at 30 million euros”, declares Laurent Probst, general director of Île-de-France Mobilités. A deficit that will have to be filled.
To do this, Île-de-France Mobilités is firstly counting on a traffic transfer. “The price of the ticket in the greater suburbs for the train will drop from 5 euros to 2.50 €. If in addition on Liberté+, for 1.99 euros, we have the free connection (…) There will be a modal shift of the car to public transport“, estimates the general director of IDFM.
To make up for its deficit, IDF Mobilités is also banking on the effects of its anti-fraud plan. The Region has decided to launch a communication campaign against bad payers. “Fraud is stealing, Paid transport tickets = financed network.
“This costs several hundred million euros. This is an opportunity to strengthen the fight against this scourge on buses where there is around 15% fraud on average. according to Laurent Probst. “There will be a phenomenon of erosion of suppression of involuntary fraud, for example the person who does not have the right ticket (…) all these elements will make it possible to bring in additional resources”he adds.
