Due to the reopening ceremonies of Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral, a security system is put in place during the weekend and several metro stops are closed by the police headquarters.
Paris police chief Laurent Nuñez unveiled this Sunday, December 1 in the columns of Le Parisien the security system that will be put in place around Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral on the occasion of its reopening on December 7 and 8.
A security perimeter “inspired by the Olympic Games ceremony”, including a zone where motorized traffic will be prohibited including the Île de la Cité, as well as part of the Île Saint-Louis and the Saint-Michel district .
Consequently, three metro stops will also be closed during the weekend: Saint-Michel, Cité and Pont-Neuf.
The first two, located on line 4, will be closed all day from Saturday until 8 p.m. Sunday. Concerning the Pont-Neuf station served by metro 7, it will be closed from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The police headquarters calls on all people to avoid the area between the Louvre Museum and City Hall during weekend ceremonies.
