Any reason is good to enjoy a beer. However, you don’t have to be a fan of brew to go to the Festival des bières de Laval, which is taking place for its 8th edition this month. Indeed, in addition to being a gathering of 40 microbreweries that aim to make you discover their best beers, ciders and spirits, the event also plans family activities, musical performances, comedy shows, outdoor games and more.

In short, it’s a little party to put on your calendar! (Well, a “small” party that attracts more than 30,000 festival-goers annually)

As tradition dictates, the event will take place at the Centre de la nature de Laval from July 12 to 14. Once there, you can choose between different packages to discover many drinks and local products, while a total of 85 exhibitors will be on site to satisfy your taste buds.

Les Insulaires Microbrasseurs, L’Entêté, Lagabière, Messorem, L’Amère à boire, Pit Caribou and Dieu du ciel are just a few examples of the places you can discover, while you will have to pay between $3 and $10 per tasting.

But the festival isn’t just about beer. There will also be concerts, such as those by Émile Bilodeau, Jérôme 50, Calamine and Gab Bouchard, as well as comedy shows that highlight Douaa, Coco Belliveau, Alexandre Bisaillon and Étienne Dano.

Those who lacking the vibe Festive guests can also try the mechanical bull, axe throwing, country dancing lessons from the Bearded Cowboy or the Randolph play area, to name just a few of the exciting activities on the schedule.

Of course, kids can also join in the fun as they can burn off their energy in inflatable games and an iSaute section. Kids bouncing around everywhere? It always goes down better with a “p’tite frette” in your hands.

In addition to the concerts and shows, a DJ will be providing entertainment, as will La Pimenterie, which is organizing a hot sauce competition on Saturday, July 13. It’s going to be hot.

If you’re feeling peckish, food trucks will be on site serving up comfort food, in addition to kiosks offering snacks unique (pssst, the Halloumi kiosk is a must). In total, there are 24 delicious options available to you: you won’t be short of options!

For the ultimate experience, you have to try the official beer of the event, La Festivaloise, a lime lager (4.5%) created in collaboration with Lagabière and Les Insulaires Microbrasseurs. “It will whet your thirst for all the wonderful discoveries that await you at the festival,” says the team behind this festive drink.
