After the spring temperatures of last weekend, a wind of fresh air will hit a large part of France from the end of the week. In total, 54 departments will be affected by morning frosts.
Is winter already here? The first weekend in December will look like it. After a few days of mild weather, the cold is once again about to reach several regions of France. A freshness which will affect the eastern half of the country, particularly the north-eastern quarter.
A France cut in two this weekend
First on Saturday, the thermometer will indicate 3°C in the afternoon in Strasbourg, while it showed 12°C on Wednesday November 27. In Chalon-sur-Saône and Lyon, it will be 2°C.
In the West, it's a completely different scenario: it will be 18°C in Biarritz and 16°C in Bordeaux. And in Occitania, it will be 13°C in Toulouse and Montpellier.
As for Sunday, it will be cool again in the north-eastern quarter of the country, particularly in the Grand-Est region. It could be as low as -5°C in the Alsatian countryside and Lorraine in the morning. But France will again be cut in two, with, in the afternoon, 5 to 14°C in the northern half and 12 to 19°C in the south.
The East of the country on the front line
This fresh breeze will create frost in the early hours of the day in 54 departments. Météo-France warns of the risk of frost during the weekend throughout Ile-de-France and in Hauts-de-France, precisely in Aisne, Oise, Somme, Nord and Pas-de-Calais, but also in Normandy in Manche, Calvados and Orne, eastern Eure and Seine-Maritime.
In the Grand-Est, all departments will be affected. The situation will be the same in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, Yonne, Nièvre, Côte-d'Or, Saône-et-Loire, Jura, Doubs and Haute-Saône.
Same situation in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, where all departments will be concerned. Namely, Allier, Puy-de-Dôme, Cantal, Haute-Loire, Loire, Rhône, Isère, Drôme, Ardèche, Ain, Savoie and Haute-Savoie , which will experience morning frosts during both days.
Finally, in the southern part of the country, it is the mountainous regions which will be concerned, in particular the departments of Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, but also Vaucluse.
