“After several days of intense research, we are delighted to confirm thatAmalka was found and returned to its owner,” Air France said in a press release. The dog, lost by a Czech passenger, had been sought since November 19 throughout Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport.
The dog found several kilometers away
The company “would like to thank all the teams mobilized for the research since the first day: Air France employees, volunteers, Paris Aéroport staff and the entire Paris CDG airport community.”
According to The Parisian the 2-year-old dog, who disappeared nine days earlier, was found in a park in Dammartin-en-Goële (Seine-et-Marne), a few kilometers from Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport. The animal had managed to escape from its transport cage during unloading from a flight from Vienna taken by its mistress, a tourist.
Significant resources mobilized
An “action plan”, including a gendarmerie drone, had been deployed across the entire French airport platform, even leading to the closure of two runways on Tuesday, without impact on air traffic. “Both will be able to return to their final destination soon,” underlined Air France, which had taken care of the owner's stay at the airport.
